Brandon Ingram has no problem proving his doubters wrong.

Going into next season, the Lakers are clearly in unfamiliar territory.
Constructing a team not used to the rebuilding process isn’t easy, but the Lakers appear to have the right pieces in place moving forward.
Acting on instinct, Brandon Ingram will have arguably the most on his plate when it comes to expectations as a rookie.
He’s drawn comparisons to Kevin Durant and was taken second overall by the Lakers for a reason — they expect the most out of him.
According to a report from NBC Sports, Ingram’s understanding of his situation in Los Angeles is fitting.
Per the report:
“We know we’re not going to go out and win 50 games this year and develop that chemistry right away,” Ingram said. “We know it’s a process. We have a new coach. We’ll have to continue to work hard each and every day. Hard work, developing chemistry, having good teammates and a good locker room, I think that’s what a successful season is.”
The Rookie of the Year race is going to come between Ben Simmons of Philadelphia and more than likely Ingram.
After draft day allowed the Lakers to pick up the former Duke star, the time for excellence remained just around the corner.
Development from D’Angelo Russell and Jordan Clarkson are going to fuel Ingram’s game and make him a much more comfortable player on the floor.
While chemistry, as Ingram pointed out, is key, turning that chemistry into something effective on the floor is just as important.
Ingram adds a perspective to the young core in Los Angeles that other draft picks, particularly Ben Simmons, wouldn’t have brought in the same manner.
